OTTAWA STRONG INTRODUCES THE BRITANNICA GALACTICA — A STORY JOURNEY FROM EARTH TO THE MOON AND BACK

OTTAWA, ON — September 1, 2026 — Today, Ottawa Strong: After the Storm Community Recovery Benefit Concert & Media Production introduces the fictional spacecraft at the heart of its immersive Earth → Moon → Earth story experience.

The journey begins aboard the Britannica Peerdusk, Ottawa Strong's departure starship.

In the story world of Ottawa Strong, a starship is a spacecraft that can still be seen moving through orbital space. A lightship is the next evolution: a vessel imagined to travel at or near the speed of light, disappearing from ordinary sight as it enters its light-speed passage.

For perspective, light travels at approximately 299,792 kilometres per second.

A car travelling at 100 km/h covers about 28 metres per second.

That means light is moving roughly 10.8 million times faster.

THE JOURNEY

Passengers first board the Britannica Peerdusk in Ottawa.

"Peer" represents looking beyond what we already know. "Dusk" marks the moment between one world and the next.

From Earth orbit, passengers transfer to the Britannica Galactica, the Mother Ship.

Galactica represents humanity thinking beyond one city, one country, or even one planet.

The Mother Ship remains visible in orbital travel but, within the fictional story, can transition into lightship mode, carrying passengers across the vast distance toward lunar space.

Approaching the Moon, passengers transfer again—this time to a smaller lunar transport designed for descent and surface operations.

On the return journey, the sequence reverses:

Moon Transport → Britannica Galactica → Britannica Peerdusk → Ottawa.

Each transfer represents something larger than transportation:

  • Earth teaches us where we came from.
  • The Moon asks what we can become.
  • The journey home asks what we bring back.

That is the central idea behind Living and Working on the Moon.

Ottawa Strong is not presenting these fictional vessels as existing spacecraft. They are part of an original H2OBoy storytelling experience designed to make science, imagination, resilience and humanity feel accessible.

The complete digital story experience will be offered for $9.99, giving audiences a way to continue the mission beyond September 1.
